Alphique Stories!

Alphique Stories provide semi-entertaining hints to past Alphique puzzles through story telling. Every single day, a new puzzle is generated. Each of those days, There are new words in the puzzle. At some point after each month, a story will be generated from the puzzles' words, separated roughly by day, and it ought to contain all 3-letter or larger words and acronyms. So if you're trying to solve a past puzzle, give the story a read, focusing on the day, and look for any obtuse words hiding in there!

Existing Stories

These stories also serve as an amusing example of generative AI (ie, chatGPT). The basic prompt is something like:

I want to write a silly fantasy story that is kid friendly. Each prompt I give will continue the existing story in this chat. Each prompt contain a list of words that must be used.
The following is the list of the words that must be used: BLAH, BLAH, BLAH

All future prompts are simply:

ANOTHER, LIST, OF, REQUIRED, WORDS
An optional small guiding sentence or two.

Does this actually work?

For the most part, yes. Occasionally, it will miss a word. Other times it uses a derivation of the word, such as hidden or hid-den for the word hid. Continuity sometimes breaks, and context in the prompt may be required as it found the characters to be acting in two similar locations at the same time. It uses words incorrectly at times. The failures of the generative ai actually make the stories more amusing due to the mental dissonance. I mean, after all, if someone wants to make money, clearly donating all possessions is a good way to rake in some dough. Overall, it makes for a pretty amusing read, though. Enjoy!

Being curious about the metrics, statistics are run to see how good the AI generator did with the story. Each page chunk is a separate day, and the scores are summed together for and listed in the Daily scores. Cumulative scores check against the entire story. While there is a chance words would appear from beforehand, it is interesting to see if the AI generator would try to incorporate words it missed on earlier segments of the story.
